Database Registration Instructions

  • Need further information? Take a look at the documentation (pdf) for the registration system.
  • Don't forget to register for the season! Go into the system after September 2nd to register for the 2008/2009 season.

This is an introduction to the new swimmers database we will be using for registration next year. This database will replace the paper registration system that we are currently using. This database is the Swimming Canada database that all swim clubs across the country will use. As the registrar, I will be setting up a family account in the database for each swim family, in preparation for the fall swimming season. Don't worry if you are not sure at this time if your swimmer will be returning. Any accounts that do not have a registered swimmer by the fall session will automatically become inactive.

When I create each new family account, the database program will automatically send each family a welcome email. In that email there will be instructions, a username, and a password to log into the Swimming Canada database. You will need to log into the database as soon as you get the email and follow the directions on the screen. It will ask you to input information and to add swimmers.

Once logged in the first time, you will see the following welcome screen:

Database Opening Screen

This screen describes the steps for you to follow to complete the account creation process. At this point you only need to add your family and contact information, and swimmers (steps 1, 2, and 3). You will not need to register your swimmers at this time as they are already registered for this year. In the fall you can log into the website and register your swimmers online, then come to the registration night to pay the fees. **Remember, you do not need to do step 4 right now. You may come back to your account at any time and make changes to the contact information. Please input any extra cell phone numbers that you use so that we can contact you in case of an emergency.

I will be creating family accounts over the next several weeks so that the database is ready to go for the fall. Please contact me by email (jbnixon AT sasktel.net) if you have any questions regarding this process. This is a new system and I am a new registrar so we may run into some glitches, I thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation with the new database.
