The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club philosophy is that swimming provides an opportunity for group participation, and friendship, as well as positive physical and emotional development.
The Club believes that competitive swimming is a 'sport for all' with no restrictions as to age, gender or race for participation.
Mitch Robin led the Sharks contingent in medals at the Man Sask Provincial long course meet in Winnipeg. Mitch won three gold medals, a silver and a bronze. Teammate Scott Mills also came up with two silver medals. Many more Sharks made finals at the meet, despite having to train in a 20 metre outdoor pool while their regular facility is under repair. Sharks Shay Daniels and Mitchel Robin were recently interviewed regarding their swim careers and their upcoming trip to the Canada Summer games. Read the interviews at the Prince Albert Daily Herald online.
Sash Broda is taking another route to the Canada games as part of the provincial men's triathlon team.
Three Sharks joined team Saskatchewan at the August 2008 North American Indigenous Games hosted by the Cowichan Tribes of British Columbia.
Shay-Anne Daniels medaled in all her individual events, garnering two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. She also took home two gold and one silver medal in team relay events. Scott Mills won two gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals in individual events. He also came away with two gold medals in team relay events. Colleen Daniels captured silver medals in all three of her breastroke events, as well as receiving three bronze medals for her participation in team relay events.
In all, Team Saskatchewan swimmers brought home 50 individual medals from the competition. For more information, visit the NAIG results site or the Swim Sask News Page.
Dylan McLeod, Scott Mills, and Mitchel Robin attended Age Group Nationals at the end of July. Congratulations to Mitchel Robin, who won a bronze medal in the 800 Free.

Five Sharks attended the training camp for members of the 2009 Canada Games ID Tea and members of the Tier 3 High Performance Team. These hardworking Sharks are: Mitch Robin, Scott Mills, Natasha Nagle, Anne Charles, and Colleen Daniels.
The septathalon was a good meet for the Sharks. We had 4 young swimmers there competing and they all swam excellent!

There were 21 Sharks at the RYMM Developmental meet, 11 of them competing for the first or second time. Coach Roger had high praise for all participants for their great attitude and performance.
